How to Do Keyword Research for an Amazon Launch in Under 1 Minute

Keyword research is one of the most important, fundamental tasks needed for successfully launching a product on Amazon. This is as true today as it was when I started selling on Amazon in 2014.
Back then, I did all my keyword research the hard way using (still relevant) methods like looking at competitor listings, Google autocomplete, and my own imagination. Helum10 didn’t even exist yet. Keyword research was hard work and it took time to build a useful list of highly relevant keywords.
Fast forward to the present day, and we have countless software tools that can help us find keywords to use as the foundation of our Amazon launch ad campaign strategy.
Some of these tools you have to pay for, like Helium10 and MerchantWords, while other are free.
However, there is one relatively new tool anyone can use for free! And that is ChatGPT.
All you need to do is know what to ask for and ChatGPT will give you a pretty good keyword list to use in your launch campaigns. I like to use this as one of several methods when conducting keyword research. But, if you are in a rush, or inexperience with Amazon, it does a good enough job on its own.
Here’s how you can use ChatGPT to build a keyword list for your product:
- Got to https://chat.openai.com/
- Type in a basic title for your product and a prompt asking ChatGPT for what we want.
An easy prompt (Copy and Paste into ChatGPT):

NOTE: Always remember to use common sense and remove non-relevant keywords from whatever list ChatGPT, or any other tool, provides.
